Bar & Rack Installation guide

Installation guide for the Bar (horizontal) and the Rack (vertical). Follow the shared wall-mounting steps, then the steps for your version.

Before you start.

Check the accessories and quantities against the box list for your Bar or Rack. Both come with a 400 mm or 600 mm rod, depending on the length you chose. All rods are Ø25 mm.

Leave the rod-side connector pre-fitted at the centre of the rod. The separate wall-side part is installed on the wall with two screws and two suitable plugs; no washers or screw caps are supplied.

Have a drill, suitable drill bit, spirit level, pencil and screwdriver ready. These tools are not included. Check wall suitability, hidden cables or pipes and clearance for your equipment.

Keep the free rod ends accessible: modules slide on from these ends. Follow the steps for your version.

[ WALL TYPE ]

  • Solid, non-hollow walls

Suitable for solid, non-hollow walls only. Do not install on hollow walls or plasterboard partitions. Select fixings that are suitable for the actual wall material.

[ WARNING ]

Install only on a suitable solid, non-hollow wall. Do not install on hollow walls or plasterboard partitions. Use fixings suitable for the wall material. Do not load the Bar or Rack until the wall-side mount is firmly fixed and the two mounting parts are fully engaged.

Choose the example for your Bar or Rack. The animations show assembly; follow the written steps for wall preparation, suitable fixings and the final safety check.

Follow the steps.

  1. [ 01 / 06 ]

    Plan the position

    Identify your Bar (horizontal) or Rack (vertical) and check the supplied modules against your ordered configuration.

    Hold the Bar or Rack in its intended orientation and check height, alignment and clearance for your equipment.

    Leave room at the rod ends to slide the modules on. A Rack also needs access below the rod for the lower modules.

    [ NOTE ]

    The wall connector is central. The rack-side connector and its two small screws are already fitted to the rod.

  2. [ 02 / 06 ]

    Fix the wall-side mount

    Use the loose wall-side part to mark its two fixing points. Check alignment and check for cables, pipes or other services before drilling.

    Drill for fixings suitable for your wall, following the wall-plug instructions. Insert the two supplied 8 × 40 mm plugs only where they are suitable for the wall construction.

    Position the wall-side part against the wall and fit the two stainless-steel 5 × 40 mm wall screws. No washers or screw caps are supplied.

    Tighten until the part sits firmly and flat, without deforming it.

    [ NOTE ]

    The two small screws already in the rod-side connector are not the wall screws. Leave them in place.

    [ WARNING ]

    Do not load the Bar or Rack until the wall-side mount is secure.

  3. [ 03 / 06 ]

    Slide the pre-assembled rod into the mount

    Keep the rod, its rack-side connector and both pre-fitted small screws together as one assembly.

    Bar: align the connector with the open end of the wall-side guide, then slide the complete assembly along the guide until seated. Follow the actual opening of the supplied mounting part.

    Rack: align the connector above the wall-side guide, then slide the complete assembly down until seated.

    Check that both mounting parts are fully engaged and the Bar or Rack is stable.

    [ NOTE ]

    Do not remove or reinstall the two pre-fitted rod screws during this step.

    [ WARNING ]

    Do not load a partly engaged connection.

  4. [ 04 / 06 ]

    Bar: fit the tray, then the holders

    Slide the tray over the free rod end on its side of the central mount and into position.

    Fit the tray's small rear screw (3.5 × 16 mm) and tighten carefully to secure the tray.

    From the opposite free rod end, slide the helmet holder towards the central mount first. Then slide on the glasses holder, leaving it nearer the rod end.

    Only fit modules supplied with your configuration. If your set has different modules, follow their specific assembly instructions.

    [ NOTE ]

    The tray occupies one side of the central mount; the helmet and glasses holders occupy the other. Fit the holder nearest the centre first. Skip this step for a Rack.

    [ WARNING ]

    Slide the shown holders on from a free rod end. Do not flex or side-clip them around the rod.

  5. [ 05 / 06 ]

    Rack: fit the upper and lower modules

    For the vertical arrangement shown, fit the upper modules from the top end: slide the glasses holder down first, then fit the helmet holder above it.

    Fit the lower modules from the bottom end: slide the bike-computer holder up first, then the storage tray, then the shoe-holder base.

    The central connector separates the upper and lower sections. Do not force a module past it or past another fitted module.

    Fit only the modules included with your configuration. The assembled order from top to bottom is helmet, glasses, bike computer, storage tray and shoe holder.

    [ NOTE ]

    Install the module furthest from the entry end first. Skip this step for a Bar.

    [ WARNING ]

    Do not clip the modules on sideways or flex their openings.

  6. [ 06 / 06 ]

    Rack: fit both shoe hooks

    After the shoe-holder base is in position, slide the two separate shoe hooks onto its side tabs.

    Seat the hooks against their intended support shoulders. The hooks hang down with their tips facing forward, away from the wall.

    Check that both hooks and the base are secure before adding shoes.

    [ NOTE ]

    Fit the base first and the hooks afterwards. This step applies only to a Rack supplied with the shoe-holder module.

Final check.

Complete every check before using the product.

Using your product.

Remove equipment before adjusting any module. Slide the shown modules along their section of rod and check they stay in position before reloading.

To remove a module, slide it off the same free rod end used for installation. Remove any intervening modules first; do not force a module across the central connector or pull it off sideways.

Bar: keep the tray on its side of the central mount and the helmet and glasses holders on the other. Release the tray's rear fixing screw before repositioning the tray, then secure it again.

Rack: helmet and glasses above the central connection; bike-computer holder, tray and shoe holder below it. The shoe hooks fit separately after the base.

Module selection depends on the set you ordered. The sequence here covers the assemblies shown; use the specific instructions supplied with any other module.

Care and adjustments.

Wipe the rod, holders and wall mount with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use aggressive solvents or abrasive cleaners.

Periodically check the wall screws, two-part connection, pre-fitted rod connector and all modules for movement, damage or wear.

After adjustment, check every module is secure. Check the horizontal tray screw and vertical shoe hooks where fitted.

Stop using the rack if any part is damaged, cracked or no longer securely attached.

What is the difference between the Bar and the Rack?

Both versions use a central two-part wall connection and a rod with its rack-side connector already fitted.

The Bar (horizontal) has a tray on one side of the central mount and helmet and glasses holders on the other. The Rack (vertical) has helmet and glasses holders above the connection and a bike-computer holder, tray and shoe holder below it.

The rod orientation and module entry directions differ. Follow the steps for your Bar or Rack and the parts in your ordered set.

Are screws and wall plugs included?

Yes. Every set includes two stainless-steel 5 × 40 mm wall screws and two 8 × 40 mm plugs. No washers or screw caps are included. Use the plugs only where suitable for your wall construction.

The rod-side connector is already fitted at the centre of the rod. Leave the pre-fitted connector screws in place.

For solid, non-hollow walls only. Do not install on hollow walls or plasterboard partitions.

How do the holders attach?

Slide the modules on from a free rod end, deepest module first. Do not flex or clip them on from the side. The installation steps show the order for each configuration.

Remove equipment before adjusting modules and check they are secure before reloading.
