Wheel Mount for storing a bike wheel on the wall – StudioVelo3D

Before you start.

Read the full guide and check the five supplied parts before starting. The soft wheel pad is already bonded to the sleeve and must stay attached.

Choose a suitable solid, non-hollow wall. Check the wheel’s fit and clearance before drilling. You will need a drill and bit suitable for the wall and plug, a matching screwdriver, and a way to mark the fixing point.

  • 1 × stainless-steel 5 × 40 mm mounting screw
  • 1 × M5 washer
  • 1 × 8 × 40 mm wall plug

Use fixings suitable for the actual wall material. The supplied plug is not for hollow walls or plasterboard partitions.

[ WARNING ]

For one road or gravel wheel only, not a complete bicycle. Do not install on hollow walls or plasterboard partitions.

The animation shows the plug, wall core, screw and sleeve with its bonded wheel pad. The included M5 washer is not shown: fit it beneath the screw head in step 2. Marking and drilling are covered in the written guide.

Follow the steps.

  1. [ 01 / 03 ]

    Prepare the fixing point and insert the plug

    Choose a suitable solid, non-hollow wall. Check the mounting position with your wheel and leave enough clearance to place and remove it.

    Use the fixing hole in the wall core to mark one point. Check for concealed cables, pipes or other services before drilling.

    Drill and clear the hole, then insert the supplied 8 × 40 mm wall plug. Follow the plug instructions for the required drill diameter and depth, and use fixings suitable for the actual wall material.

    Marking and drilling are preparation steps and are not shown in the animation.

    [ WARNING ]

    Do not install on hollow walls or plasterboard partitions.

  2. [ 02 / 03 ]

    Fix the wall core with the washer and screw

    Position the wall core against the wall, aligned with the plug.

    Place the M5 washer beneath the head of the stainless-steel 5 × 40 mm screw. Pass the screw through the washer and wall core into the plug.

    Tighten until the core sits firmly against the wall without movement. Do not overtighten or deform the printed part.

    [ NOTE ]

    The M5 washer is included, but is not shown in the animation. Fit it during this step.

  3. [ 03 / 03 ]

    Slide the sleeve over the wall core

    Keep the sleeve and its wheel pad together. The pad is already bonded in place and does not need to be fitted or glued.

    Align the sleeve with the mounted wall core and slide it over the core until fully seated, as shown in the animation.

    Check that the sleeve is secure and the wheel pad remains firmly attached before placing your wheel.

    [ WARNING ]

    Do not use the mount with a partly engaged sleeve or a loose pad.

Final check.

Complete these checks before placing your wheel.

Using your product.

Place one road or gravel wheel onto the wheel pad while keeping hold of it. Check that it is securely supported before releasing it.

To remove the wheel, support it and lift it clear of the mount. Do not pull the sleeve away from the wall core. The mount is not intended to carry a complete bicycle.

Care and adjustments.

Wipe the mount and wheel pad with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners and aggressive solvents.

Check the fixing, sleeve and bonded pad regularly for movement, wear or damage. Stop using the mount if any part is loose or damaged.
